Question 21 & Question 22 Empty Question 21 & Question 22

Post by TECHNOTHLON Wed Jul 20, 2016 6:19 pm

Mario finally comes face to face with the evil dragon Bowser, who is ready to kill him, but, like all villains, he likes to play games before killing. So he throws up his favorite L-tromino challenge.
(Hint : An L-tromino is a 2 × 2 tile with one unit square removed)
Question 21 & Question 22 410

Question 21 :
He changes the floor into a plate as shown below. And says his L-Tromino has 3 ground squares and 1 hole. He says that he has used 8 L-Trominos on the floor and just 1 1x1 single warp tile, which can take him to the next level. However, the problem is that the warp tile looks like the ground tiles, exactly alike.
How many positions could the warp tile possibly be?
(a)1 (b)5 (c)9 (d)25

Question 22 :
For the final challenge, Bowser asks, “For which integers n, does there exist a shape which can be tiled using 2 × 1 dominoes in exactly n different ways?”
(a) All Natural Numbers (b) n is power of 2 (c) n is an even number (d) n = 2,4

Question 21 & Question 22 Empty 5 is the answer

Post by shaurya Fri Jul 22, 2016 10:48 pm

q-21......for all those saying 1,,i assume that u mean only the center piece can be the warp tile......check out for central edge pieces (1,3)(3,1)(5,3)(3,5)  where (row, column)...only for the cases mentioned above,, would L-tromino tiles fit properly.......along with the central tile possibility.... and none of the other possible places of warp tile would result in perfect fitting of el tromino tiles,,,,try it out if you want to by arranging the tiles thus the answr is 5

Question 21 & Question 22 Empty Score

Post by We Tried Tue Jul 26, 2016 9:19 am

I scored 15 marks and hence have lost this competition totally and utterly.... We all had dreams of clearing this exam but they were short lived... me and my partner were idiotic and attempted way to many questions, we lost more than 12 marks in stupid negative marking... Good Game, and I hope that I may have a chance at Mains once in my Life lol

P.S Also post your scored here.... if a lot of us post here, then we will have a better idea of our chances of victory in this examination
