In the night, Tintin is informed that in one particular row of 10 tents a magical elf has entered and stealing the food from the tents. Each minute, the elf moves to an adjacent tent. Tintin must find the elf as soon as possible. But the problem is, he can search one tent in a minute. What is the minimum tIme in which Tintin can catch the elf in any case?

I think answer is 2. Reason: The elf moves to the adjacent tent. So you'll know after the first minute where the initial position of the elf is. The next moment you'll have to search 2 tents adjacent to the tent which was just stolen. Lal.

The answer must be 1 because it is mentioned that the minimum time should Tintin required can be in any case.
A possibility can occur if Tintin and the Elf remain in a same tent at that time i.e. Tintin searches the tent in which the Elf is stealing his food.
